Joining the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics automatically enrolls you as a member of the California Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics at no additional charge when you select California as the state you practice/study in. It does not enroll you in the Northern Area District, but you must be an Academy member to be eligible for enrollment in the Northern Area District.
The Northern Area District is an excellent resource for students to connect with professionals in our local area serving in a wide variety of specialties including: diabetes educators, dialysis clinics, acute care, community care, and many more. We even have a dietitian who works with U2 pilots! One of the biggest mistakes students make is not networking early enough. By joining, you gain job shadowing opportunities, access to members only events, scholarships, monthly e-newsletter, members only job board, student leadership opportunities, and lifelong friendships.
